7/29/24…I have just returned after an awesome trip up to my off-grid property. Vultures Are Nesting Nearby.
I have always loved nature, and not just the pretty nature that folks share all the time, but all of nature. The good, the bad, and the ugly. While nesting vultures may seem ugly to some, I find all of nature fascinating! I think they are just as beautiful as any other creature out there. And they serve a very useful niche….if anything dies, vultures will not let it go to waste.
Anyways, I took a hike around my property, and went to investigate some rim-rock nearby. As I was traversing the rocky area, I noticed a vulture hopping from rock to rock. I immediately thought there must be a dead animal nearby, and since the vulture did not fly, but rather jumped out of sight in the rocks, I also thought he must really like what was there.
As I got closer I saw another vulture, and he too did not fly, so now I knew something was up. As I began to look around to see what they were up to I found their nesting site, which was in a small cave in the rocks…you can see the opening in the image below.

Then I saw other vultures who looked mature, but were obviously not as they could not fly yet. There were four of them, I felt very fortunate to stumble upon their nesting site.

This kinda thing just floats my boat, I feel lucky to have experienced it!
Moving on from Vultures Are Nesting Nearby See My D’Qar Cannabis Seed Grow
I am growing an Indica Dominate strain called D’Qar this year. I got this strain from New420seedguys, and Paul was instrumental in me starting out in this business. I chose this strain to grow up there as Indicas tend to finish quickly enough, and I am hoping these will have time to make seed.
The plants are bushy, as some Indicas tend to be, and are just now beginning to shorten their inter-node length in preparation to flower. I like the compactness of these plants, and their durability….as they have been wilty a few times when I have gone up there.
Here are a couple images of the D’Qar Cannabis Strain…

Herbs and Flowers that are Thriving in the Food-Forest
The environment up there can be hard on some plants, while others love it. My whole thing will be concentrating on those plants that are useful, and do well there.
Here is a collage of some of the plants I have growing with captions if you click on the individual image….

Prepping for my RV
I also ran my excavator for a few hours and prepped an area I will be putting an RV. I plan on moving up there before this winter arrives…we shall see.
Here is a before image…

And an after image…

It is important to rock any area you will be driving on there. If you fail to do so, you run the risk of getting stuck, and I have been stuck up there on several occasions. I a sure the Vultures Are Nesting Nearby will help me get out… LOL
Conclusion Vultures Are Nesting Nearby
I am slowly but surely working towards my goal for my property…several acres planted as a food-forest, as well as food plots for the animals. I have so many plans, we will see where they take me as money and energy pretty much dictates what I accomplish. It was very cool to see Vultures Are Nesting Nearby.
