There’s been a lot of popularity surrounding the more recent Delta-8 THC, but what exactly is it?
Delta-8 THC, or delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, is one of the four main cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.
In the cannabis that the majority of cannabis enthusiasts are used to using, it is the compound delta-9 THC that provides most of the desired effects.
Delta-9 and delta-8 are two very similar cannabinoids, but have some differences. Delta-8 provides effects of less potency and intensity than delta-9, which, on the other hand, means less adverse effects as well.
Delta-8 is legal in many areas due to the fact that most of it that is on the market is manufactured from hemp-derived CBD- this makes it legal, technically.
Delta-8 is known to be a safe compound, as it naturally occurs in all cannabis, just at smaller amounts. The effects that delta-8 provides, although less potent, are the same as delta-9 offers.
There are many medical conditions that can be treated by using delta-8, also.
Delta-8 THC is a trend that is still young, and many questions still exist regarding its effects, origin, and legality.
JustCannabisSeed.com does not offer legal advice- however, we want our customers to stay informed on any and all cannabis topics, so please subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media for the latest advice and information!
Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants in the family Cannabaceae. It is generally accepted that there are three species of Cannabis, ie…Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis. Cannabis plants come in both male and female, with the ability to hermaphrodite (that is females that produce pollen in a last ditch effort to continue their species). Hermaphroditism is the bane of sinsemilla growers everywhere, but is the result of that practice. We have seeds available for both Indica and Sativa. Ruderalis plants produce little THC and is undesirable for most people for that reason. There are also a few variations of seeds as well. Seeds can come as regular seeds ( will produce both male and female at about 50/50), feminized seeds (will produce only female plants as they are lacking the Y chromosome), and auto flowering seeds (auto flower plants will flower regardless of light cycle.)
Regular Cannabis Seed
Now let’s take a closer look at the advantages, and disadvantages of each type of seed. Regular seed is the seed commonly sold online. They will produce both male and female plants, and these plants will be photo sensitive. (need about 12 hours of darkness to initiate flowering.) Outdoors without shading they will grow all summer, and flower in the fall. Indoors you can ‘make’ them flower by increasing the dark period to about 12 hours. Disadvantage…you will have to contend with male plants.
Feminized Cannabis Seed
Feminized seed is seed that manipulated during breeding to contain only the female or X chromosome. These seeds should only grow into female plants. The advantage of feminization is you will not spend time nor waste space raising male plants….If you are wanting sinsemillia. (seedless flowers) Disadvantage…feminized seed is more difficult to produce and usually commands a higher price.
Auto Flowering Cannabis Seed
Lastly you have the auto flowering seeds. Auto-flower seeds are produced by crossing a Ruderalis plant with either a Sativa, or a Indica plant. Auto flower plants are not photo sensitive, or in other words, do NOT need a longer dark period to initiate flowering. They will flower at a certain age regardless of the length of the dark period. There are a few advantages of auto flowering plants…They are generally shorter and smaller, so easier to conceal. No need to tamper with the light cycle, as they will bloom under even 24 hours of light. Disadvantage…they are felt to contain less THC, although they seem to be gaining ground in that department.
Medical Benefits of Cannabis
There seems to be no end to the medical benefits of cannabis! And, now with legalization becoming more common, more and more studies are being conducted proving even more medical benefits of this incredible plant. Recently, scientists are realizing that cannabis not only can help with the devastating side effects of some cancer treatments, but may even help ‘cure’ cancer. The medical benefits of this amazing plant are many and varied. Here are just a few of the conditions treated with Medical Cannabis….Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Headaches and migraines, Epilepsy, and it’s seizures, Cancer and it’s treatments, Depression, Asthma, Parkinson’s, ADD/ADHD, Stress, Insomnia, nausea, anxiety, chronic pain, some wasting conditions, with more conditions seemingly added every day. Many state that there are tricks on sexing a cannabis seed by its overall appearance. A popular photo shows on the Internet quite frequently, and a lot of cannabis growers use this photo as reference to sex their seeds.
Most cannabis growers would much rather know the sex of their seed immediately, but is this possible?
Here, we will go over this theory, as well as the photo.
Contrary to what many think, you cannot sex a cannabis seed simply by looking at a seeds characteristics. Furthermore, you cannot sex a cannabis seed, period.
Cannabis growers and cannabis enthusiasts alike- beware of this well-known myth.
If this were the case, the process for feminized cannabis seeds would not exist, and would not be such a “hit” in the cannabis seed market.
The Photo Behind the Myth
Here is that photo that is widely recognized by many tokers and growers as a genuine guide to sexing cannabis seeds.
This photo displays five seeds (which honestly, may not even be cannabis seeds)- the photo states that two of the seeds are male, while the remaining three are female.
According to this photo, if there is no “perfectly round” crater present at the bottom of the seed, it is surely a male seed. This is purely myth.
In addition, you cannot sex a weed seed by the way it rolls on a flat surface. This photo should be considered nonsensical, however, there are still far too many who side with these false statements.
There are also many seed banks online who are currently selling seeds that they claim to be certain are feminized seeds, however, use the seeds’ characteristics as determination that the seeds are female.
There are even some seed banks who offer “free male seeds” to customers as a promotion.
JustCannabisSeed.com may not offer feminized seeds, but we do offer you the guarantee that your seeds’ genders are unknown- which is much better than having your hopes let down by a falsely-informed seedbank.
We would much rather tell you that we are unsure of the sex of your seeds, than to promise that they are either female or male cannabis seeds, and later find out that the exact opposite is true.
There is no surefire, 100% guaranteed way of sexing a cannabis seed by its appearance. If anyone tells you otherwise, please let them know that this is a common myth. Stay informed with JustCannabisSeed.com.
Marijuana is a plant that grows into the ground with no added ingredients added to it.
Other drugs have things added to them to make them more effective to the alignment to help with aches, cancer and many other illnesses.
I know as a person who has had seizures, marijuana has helped me get off of the seizure meds and be able to function to raise my kids. The seizure meds had me loopy and not all the way there for my kids. I can focus more on them then having to worry about if I am able to take care of everyday needs for them.
They have their mother back!
Just like everything thing else you have to do in moderation and always be aware of your surroundings.
Now that I can’t get any help with trying to get a medical card because the new Dr, I am seeing is saying she will not give me one because she feels it will not help my seizures.
But after taking that medicine that makes me not alert for my kids. I don’t want to have to back track all the hard work I been through in the last year.
I can function better for them when I have smoked a little marijuana, and it doesn’t make me sick from taking it. And, it doesn’t take much to realize the effects! I am able to hold down food and do other things to keep me going through the day.
My grandmother had cancer and while she was going through her chemo, she lost her hair and no appetite she smoked some marijuana and was able to eat and feel a whole lot better about herself.
My mother has arthritis with no cure or surgery to help the pain in her joints but with marijuana she is able to cope with the pain from it.
I don’t write this to receive pity, I write this so other people with the same health issues as me and my family can at least find a faster, better way to help with their pain and and receive the best help possible for them.
Not a lot has worked for us, even when we tried the meds that the Drs gave us.
I can actually focus on the day ahead of me after i have smoked a little marijuana.
I remember being pregnant with my oldest daughter. I wasn’t gaining weight and not holding food down so I smoked a little marijuana while still early in my pregnancy. I was able to keep food down and not be sick because my Dr thought he was going to have to have me on hospital rest because of the weight loss. I told him I smoked some marijuana and was able to gain the weight back, and my Doc happily allowed me to continue to use cannabis in moderation.
Fast forward to 20 years later, my daughter is now in college, and on the dean’s list every year since she entered college! Cannabis has been in the forefront of treating my illnesses, and improving my quality of life!
However, it seems as if the weed strains which are named to be much more traditional and straightforward are the ones that have the longest lasting positive reputations.
One of the most direct strain names is one that weed enthusiasts are going crazy over. This strain is modestly named Hash Plant. The strain of Hash Plant offered here on Just Cannabis Seed is called Tajikistani Hash Plant.
It’s not difficult to figure out where this Hash Plant’s strain name originated from- it’s highly suitable for extraction, due to the super resinous flower that it produces, in combination with a speedy flowering stage during the growth of this cannabis plant (around 7 weeks in length), a result of it’s mountainous origins.
Bred by Sensi Seeds, Hash Plant is an indica-dominant cannabis strain with only 10% of its genetic makeup consisting of Cannabis sativa.
Hash Plant owes very much of its adoration to the Afghani strain and its remarkable genetics, as well as descended inspiration from the tremendously well-known (and truly legendary) Northern Lights strain.
Several widely-recognized dispensaries have recently served as sources of the Hash Plant strain.
This serves as no surprise, since the effects of Hash Plant consist of a pleasant euphoria, relaxation, pain relief, and an overall sense of feeling calm, making it perfect for those who are looking to use cannabis to treat insomnia and anxiety disorders.
The aroma of Hash Plant is considered to be danky and spicy, while its flavors are spicy, yet sweet, as well as earthy and woody. Hash Plant provides true hash effects along with the customary kush plant flavor and scent.
There are many variations of the Hash Plant strain, all of which offer almost all of the desired effects of marijuana.
For a smooth, “take it easy” kind of high, the Hash Plant strain is sure to be recommended, undoubtedly. Stoners love this strain, and for reasons obvious- what fellow toker would not want to be giggly and chatty, yet tranquil and blissful?!
CBD is the second most prevalent cannabinoid in cannabis. It is often used and known for its medicinal effects, as although it provides all sorts of physiological relief and relaxation, it is not a psychoactive compound, such as THC is. There are still many skeptics, even after decades of formal and professional research, regarding the therapeutic effects of CBD on the body and brain. CBD is known best for its calming and pain-relieving properties. What happens scientifically, though, and how does this serve as proof of it providing authentic, sought-after effects?
CBD acts on the cannabinoid receptors in the brain, but it’s often neglected to mention that CBD increases the amount of GABA in the brain.
GABA stands for Gamma Aminobutyric Acid. It is the brain’s natural benzodiazepine- an amino acid that serves as an important neurotransmitter which affects our lives in many ways, daily. Its function is to reduce excitably within the nervous system. By lessening electrical activity within the nervous system, as opposed to glutamate, increased GABA can aid in the prevention of seizures, inhibit the activity in the brain that causes migraines, calm one from the effects of anxiety, and possess the opportunity to have a great night’s rest. This is why you see or hear of people who suffer from epilepsy, anxiety disorders, insomnia, and more, using CBD to utilize its undeniably positive improvement of symptoms associated with its functions in the brain.
The connection between CBD and GABA is one of the main reasons that CBD is, actually, as beneficial to the body and mind as it is. This connection leads to a much better understanding of the peaceful, sedating effects of CBD to cannabis enthusiasts and critics alike. This has, gratefully and inevitably lead to an exponential growth in CBD consumers. It has maintained its reputation of a wonderful and trusted herbal medicine, as the improvement to one’s life that CBD can provide, is miraculous.
I bet you cats did not know that Cannabis roots are ancient form of medicine and may have a major place in modern medicine.
So how does one prepare, and use cannabis roots medically? Well first you must grow them, then….
Proper Cleaning of the Cannabis Roots
The best method for decoction in today?s world a bit of elbow grease. First of all you must know that it?s best to use fresh roots the ones that are still full of nutrients.
This means roots from plants that have been grown in clean soil.
Remember that Cannabis is a powerful soil cleaner, which is great for crops, but terrible for folks who want to ingest roots free of heavy metals!!!
To properly decoct and clean your roots, gently pull them from the ground, taking care to break as few strands as possible in the process.
When the roots are free, separate them from the stalk and leaves with a sharp knife. Then the cleaning starts. Lukewarm water is all you need to clean the roots.
In fact, keep in mind that some soap may cause damage.
Take your time cannabis roots are notorious difficult to clean. I highly recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush
to help separate the dirt from the roots. It?s an arduous process, but it?s worthwhile to get a clean and safe product.
Preparing the Root for Consumption……
Once the roots are clean, dry them off and store them in a dark, cool place for 48 hours to fully dry them out.
Once dry, you have two choices:
You can choose to boil the roots in water or grind them into a powder. Both methods work, but mashing the roots into a powder allows you to use them in other ways.
The standard unit for any decoction is 1 ounce of dried herb to two cups of boiling water. If you find your final product is too weak or strong, you can adjust the amounts on the next try. (If you can?t wait two days for the roots to dry out, double the amount used.)
Once you?ve decided on the amount to use, add your roots to the appropriate amount water and put it on the stove over medium heat. Let the concoction simmer until about one-quarter of the water has evaporated.
Creating Balms with Cannabis Root
Cannabis roots for balms also have a long history of use. To make your own, you?ll follow the steps above to extract, clean, and dry the roots of your cannabis plant.
Once you have dry roots, you?ll grind them into a fine powder.
Once you have a powder, you can mix this with any kind of oil or fat.
Then place it in a slow cooker for 12-18 hours.
Use the powder from 1 to 2 root balls, 4cups of fat (like coconut oil), and 2 cups of water. you can also add beeswax to harden the balm until it is ready for use. This just makes it easier to transport and store.
Once that?s done, you?ll have a root salve that can treat skin disorders like acne and blisters. You can also rub it on your temples for headaches or your chest to soothe congestion. It even works on achy joints.
How About, Cannabis Root Tea???
Yes you can make Canaroot Tea I don’t think I have to tell you how to make tea, it is as simple as this… don’t boil it steep it!!!
Once the water evaporates, strain the mixture and serve. You can save your decoction for up to 72 hours in the fridge.
In my findings I understand that cannabis roots have a reputation as being able to help with the symptoms of stiff joints, minor infections, and skin inflammation and high blood pressure.
There are trace amounts of cannabinoids within the roots, but this is not what people are after when preparing cannabis roots for consumption.
How To Make Your Own Cannaroot Tea
Now another way calls for placing powdered cannabis root into a slow cooker for 12 hours, with the option of adding other herbs like anise and cinnamon to the mix.
The resulting concoction can be strained and used like regular, but with the medicinal benefits of cannabis roots.
Make Sure Your Root Tea is not Toxic!
Alkaloid (pyrrolidine and piperidine) are compounds within the root that are toxic in high levels.
These can irritate the lining of your stomach and even be damaging to your liver. For this reason, we do not recommend long term use of cannabis root medicines.
Every part of the cannabis plant can used for nutritional or medicinal benefit.
When you take down your plant, consider using all of the parts, even the cannabis roots.
Medicinal Compounds in Cannabis Roots…..
These important terpenes:: friedelin, pentacyclic, triterpene ketones, and epifriedelanol have significant health benefits.
Friedlein is an antioxidant that protects the liver; Epifriedelanol has anti-tumor benefits; the other two have been shown to kill cancer cells, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain.
These have been used for millennia, having appeared in text from Classical Greece?s Pliny the Elder and in ancient Chinese and Andulision medicinal manuscripts.
Let it be known and understood that for centuries Chinese medicine incorporated every part of the cannabis plant in traditional remedies. While the leaves, stalk and seeds all had their reported therapeutic purposes (from loosening up the bowels to curing postpartum depression), the ancient medicine men of the east used the roots of Cannabis sativa during labor and delivery and as a way to help painful blockage of the bladder.
For these practices, the Chinese had two ways of preparing the root.
The first, and more straight-forward method, was to pummel fresh roots with a mortar and pestle to extract juices that could then be taken orally.
The second way was to boil the root so that the essential elements could seep out into a tea-like broth through a process called decoction. It?s the same method that the Greeks would later popularize.
Remember to always consult your physician before adding anything to your daily regimen, and please avoid long-term ingestion of cannabis roots, this content is for educational purposes only.
The information provided is derived from experience, research gathered from personal and external sources.
Phytocannabinoids accumulating in the resin of cannabis plants are made naturally in the human body.
That’s actually the reason why humans have such strong interactions with cannabinoids. There is a network of receptors in our body that cause all of the different things that you experience.
The two most common and researched chemicals are THC and CBD.
Anecdotal evidence shows that THC is the most psychoactive of the two, while CBD is more relaxing and homeopathic.
Today?s genetics provide THC content levels hovering around 30%. New users that aren?t used to the intoxicating effects of THC may want to start with lower levels and or a higher mix of CBD.
CBD seems to have a leveling out effect on THC intoxication. Studies have shown remarkable positive effects for people who ingest the acid form of THC and CBD.
These effects typically take 3 to 4 weeks which is typical of your current SSRI?s. Consuming this raw form from juicing or capsule form has even show positive impacts on the behavior of ?rowdy? children.
However, smoking or decarboxylation of cannabis is the traditional form of ingestion and produces a unique high dependent on the levels of THC. THC acid preparations tinctures are a great way for people to try cannabis for the first time. THC acid has some pretty substantial anti-inflammatory properties and may have some antispastic properties as well.
If you’re juicing flowers you do need to add a little bit of water into your blender as well or some juicers can actually get hot and activate the THC acid.
THC as a therapy, you have to try it for a while to make sure you’re actually experiencing a benefit. For many patients is actually up to three to four weeks after daily use that they truly start to experience the benefits.
Daily use of THC acid and CBD (acid or decarboxylated) and then decarboxylated THC for flare-ups, usually works best for most patients regardless of the chronic condition.
Using opioids for the least amount of time necessary to treat pain and then switching to THC is changing the landscape of opioid addiction.
If you are in the bipolar Spectrum, you will definitely need to discuss THC use with your doctor beforehand as it can make anxiety worse. However, there is anecdotal evidence that CBD is very helpful for anxiety.
Since we still know so little about brain chemistry, you may need some guidance and experimentation to find what ratios of THC and CBD work for you.
The culmination of these symptoms and the use of chemical extraction techniques has made high CBD strains a hot commodity.
Possibly trying to ripen the seed under LED lighting may have something to do with it. Although some other strains have been quicker to ripen with thew same lights.
Here are some of those Tajikistani Hash Plant seeds in the image to the right, they are big, fat, and some have that sought after tiger striping. These seeds will grow big impressive pure landrace Indica plants.
If you are needing meds for sleep, or pain relief you can find this strain to be that familiar couch lock heavy stone many look for.
These plant are easy to grow, and will remain fairly short thanks to their pure Indica genetics. The buds get very frosty, and sticky with trichomes. A potent variety that is sure to please….even the cannabis connaisseurs!
Thing first step in making your own cannabis-infused coconut oil is weighing out 7 grams of marijuana.
Preheat your oven to 215?F, then break up the weed using a cannabis grinder or a pair of scissors.
Cover the bottom of your baking dish with the ground cannabis, and seal tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake the cannabis in the 215?F oven for 30 minutes to activate the cannabis. This process is called decarboxylation, and it helps to create a more potent oil infusion.
Remove from the oven, leaving the aluminum foil tight over the top. Keeping it sealed helps prevent cannabinoid-rich vapor or steam from escaping the container, and allows it to settle back into the herb ? again, helping with potency.
Melt your coconut oil in a medium-size pan over low heat while the baking dish filled with herb cool.
After the herb dish has been left to cool for about 15 minutes, uncover and pour the melted coconut oil over the cannabis. Use a spoon to mix until combined; the goal is to coat all of the dry herb with oil.
Cover tightly with the aluminum foil once more, and return it to the 215?F oven for an hour and a half. If possible, it?s best to stir/agitate the mixture once or twice while it?s baking. Doing so helps the cannabinoids distribute more evenly.
Remove the dish from the oven, and let cool with the aluminum foil cover on for 15-20 minutes ? until you can comfortably handle the dish.
Place a double layer of cheesecloth over the opening of whatever storage vessel you will be using to store your infused oil. Carefully pour your infusion over the cheesecloth, straining out all chunks of plant matter in the process.
Gather up the sides of the cheesecloth into a bundle, and squeeze out as much remaining oil as possible….You?re all done! It is that easy to make your own cannabis-infused coconut oil.
You?ve just created a batch of activated cannabis-infused coconut oil, and now you can make a delectably potent batch of cookies, edibles, or you can use this anywhere you would use ?regular? coconut oil, making it perfect for multiple use possibilities with this infusion are endless!
It helped me with the pain in my leg after having 16 pins and 2 plates to put me back together. The infused cannabis oil helps with my debilitating backaches as well.
Looking into buying a butter machine to make it easier till then this my old recipe.
Hope this recipe helps you create your own cannabis infused medicine to improve your quality of life!
