Minimum Order of 5 Seeds…$32.00…Order up to 5 Seed Packs…Freshness Guarantee 2022
Well these Santa Marta Colombian Gold Seeds are available again. This plant I feel is closest to the original that I grew out in 1968. A slow flowering tropical type of Sativa. This has been a labor of love for me, and about 5 different grows to begin to isolate this pheno type. If you want the original Santa Marta Colombian Gold….here ya go.
You are likely wondering ‘The Real Santa Marta Colombian Gold’?? What the heck does he mean by that? Here are some blog posts detailing what I am doing with this strain….Is This the Real Santa Marta Colombian Gold? My Journey Hunting for the Phenotype
Well in this day and age the genetics of many of the landrace strains are being watered down. Getting a ‘true’ landrace strain is getting more difficult, if not impossible.
I have grown out Santa Marta Colombian Gold to produce seed for you guys a few times. I get these plants that simply look like a hybrid.
I actually have grown Colombian Gold back in the 60’s when it all came straight from Colombian. I remember the plants were distinctly Sativa, and a tropical Sativa at that.
Well on this last grow of the F1 hybrids, I also grew out 2 female Colombian Gold to make more seed. One of the plants were the normal hybrid looking plant, while the other was a different phenotype altogether…..
She was big, tall, very slow to flower, had slim Sativa like leaves…..She was the epitome of the red bud cannabis seeds I grew in the 70’s. She took a long time to flower, she flowered for a long time, and she took forever to mature her seed.
If you are looking for a plant that is the closest I have seen to the original strain, then here you go.
I will add to this at a later date, I just wanted to quickly put this strain on the lineup so you guys could take advantage…enjoy!

16 hours in water and roots were popping. Into the 15 7″ pots, and in two days we had seedlings. We are now 30 days in. Time to get out of the starter pots. Soil is a mixture of 3 yo rabbit manure/15 year old composted mixed tree mulch (from tornado debris)/night crawler castings. (Complete with night crawlers.) Black pots are all Real Santa Marta, red pots are Lebanese. (One straggler was a tiny seed that I thought was no good but came up several days later.) The coffee can is a 37 ouncer for scale. The light I use for seedlings is a 4 foot 12 bulb (twelve!) I made 4 years ago. 6500K, 384 watt, running 24/7, and I raised it up in the last week to prevent the 1/2 inch node spacing I get otherwise. I can already see signs of males on some of the tallest ones. So far, the leaflets all are very fat and indica looking. I am hoping to see more sativa traits soon.
My last Colombian Gold grow was in 1980. First was 1975. If only I knew then, I would have a gallon of seeds, and some from the killer psychedelic Mexican Redhair.

Hey Mountain Man awesome review. There are no images came with it however. It sounds like you got it going on. Sounds like one serious light! I have noticed fat leaves on some of my Sativas as well, but they should narrow out as they age. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

All popped and hoping for the ladies to take me back to the day 😁

All of my Real SMCG seeds germinated in 24 hours. Planted them and they sprouted 2 days later. So far the look healthy and are growing fine. I’m in Florida we’re we have serious storms all the time and they got a little too wet, even way up under my barn were I put them during storms. Well they are on the 4th node an only have 3 leaflets , very strange. Internet says I stressed them because of lack of light, maybe because it’s been super dark here for days during storms.

That does sound odd David, let me know how it goes,

Good Day to all. Received my order for The Real Santa Marta Columbian Gold? Today as well as some freebies. Out of the 6 beans given two do not look viable and look immature. Not sure yet about germination rate(s) yet. Would’ve given 5 stars but the two dead looking seeds squelched that. Hope I can get at least a female plant from the 4 seeds. Delivery took a couple days only to receive.

A few of those seeds may be a bit immature, but should be viable. I do guarantee germination, so get back to me if there is an issue, I take care of customers after the sale as well.

Am a cultivator of sativas. Would really love to get some of your seeds that matched your product of old, but you are out of stock now. The SM Columbian Gold I am now growing in a greenhouse in the desert of AZ is 6′ tall after repeated croppings, 6 weeks from harvest, and looks tremendous, and just like a sativa is supposed to. I expect absurd colas off this and the SMCG x Sour Plum. Thanks so much to justcannibisseed.com

Yes, I have been selectively breeding the Santa Marta strain to try to get as close as I can to the plant I grew way back in 1968. And Sour Plums is a Sativa Dom strain that will make an awesome F1!
