I’m here to spill my secrets, hook you up with the best strains growing 10 pound plants from my stash, and show you why JustCannabisSeed.com is your ticket to monster harvests. Let’s dive in!

Why Growing 10 Pound Plants is Worth It

Picture a single plant dropping 10 pounds of dried bud—enough to fill a closet and keep you grinning for months. Growing 10 pound plants isn’t just a flex (though it’s a hell of a story); it’s about maxing out your grow with one massive haul.

It takes a long season, killer genetics, and some know-how, but the payoff? Insane.

At JustCannabisSeed.com, we’ve got strains growing 10 pound plants that thrive on size—not quick autos, but photosensitive beasts built to go big. Ready to grow a monster plant, with a monster yield? Here’s how.

Top Strains Growing 10 Pound Plants

For growing 10 pound plants, you need strains with serious vigor—photoperiods that stretch tall and stack weight. Autos won’t cut it; they’re too small and fast for this game.

Here are five of my cannabis strains that may give you that 10 lb cannabis harvest…

  1. Santa Marta Colombian Gold is a mostly Sativa plant that originated in the Santa Marta mountains of Colombia South America. I have grow these seeds out myself, and given time these plants can get big. They also have buds that can get big. The perfect combination to produce a 10 lb plant.
  2. Sugar Haze is a hybrid that has produced some of the frostiest buds I have seen. The plants show hybrid vigor and grow big fast. These plants are cross of Santa Marta Colombian Gold and Skunkman’s Original Haze, and have withstood the test of time. A great choice to grow a monster plant.
  3. BadAss BB’s is a cross from my brother. Everything he grows seems to be fire! This is a F3 cross of the Black and The Big. The Black is a strain that can turn so purple it actually looks black, you gotta love those purple plants! And the strain called the Big, well that pretty much speaks for itself.
  4. Pineapple Express I got these seeds this year (2025) from a customer. He had the stalk of the mother plant, and it was huge! One of the biggest I have ever seen, and I have seen alot of cannabis plants in the last 50 years. I think it is safe to say this strain could give you a giant!
  5. Purple Lemonade This is an F1 cross I produced in 2023, and has become a favorite of several of my customers. It can grow the most beautiful flowers! And the mother plant towered over me…well over 12 feet tall. It’s buds can get huge, which should help in achieving that ten pound monster harvest.

Kicking Off Growing Huge Plants

Growing 10 pound plants starts way early—January or February indoors under lights. Get ‘em to 3-4 feet by spring, then move ‘em outside or into a tall greenhouse. By September or October, you’ve got an 8-10 month-old titan ready to drop a massive load. I’ve done this guerrilla-style out and about—plants topping 15 feet, branches sagging with flower. Never weighed ‘em (too busy enjoying the haul!), but 10 pounds is in reach with the right setup. Strains growing 10 pound plants like Santa Marta Colombian Gold need a long, warm season—tropical climates or most U.S. spots work if frost holds off.

My Tricks for Growing 10 Pound Plants

Here’s a wild technique I’ve used for growing 10 pound plants: pinning the main stalk to the ground. Start when it’s 5-6 inches tall—pin it with a U-shaped wire or rock, bending it gently every few days ‘til it’s flat. Keep pinning new growth ‘til you’ve got 10-15 feet of rooted stalk. I’ve pulled this off a handful of times—plants turn into sprawling monsters, throwing out bud sites like crazy.

Another move?

Revegging. After harvest, leave the roots and lower buds, give it 18/6 light, and watch it morph into a bushy giant—perfect for strains growing 10 pound plants. This of course is generally and inside job, so you control the light cycle. Picture a 4 foot tall revegged plant that is starting to really bush out, then putting it outside in the ground in spring. I’m planning a reveg run soon, aiming for even bigger yields. Try it, and let me know how it goes!

Setup Tips for Growing 10 Pound Plants

Growing 10 pound plants needs space and sun—12+ hours daily—and a strain that finishes before winter bites. Big plants love a big root zone—20-50 gallon pots or straight in the ground—and they thrive in warm, sunny spots. Indoors-only caps you at ceiling height, but start ‘em inside under lights, then let ‘em loose outdoors by April. I’ve got a retirement plot in mind—15 plants, 12 feet tall, and 20 feet around, maybe 150 pounds total if I’m lucky! Strains growing 10 pound plants may need that hybrid approach to hit the mark.

More Dirt on Growing Monster Plants

Back in my guerrilla days—think ‘80s and ‘90s—I’d grow cannabis monsters in out and about. Some hit 15 feet easy, and I’d bet a few were 10-pounders. Never had a scale, but the armloads of bud told the story. These days, I’d push for a greenhouse—tall and wide—to keep ‘em safe and stretching. Got pics of your own giants?
