Prepping For My New Container

Just had a productive two days up at my off grid mountain property, creating even more food plots, and prepping for a new container.

The main reason for this trip was to prep where I want my new High cube 40 foot container to sit. And to be there when it was delivered.

container shop

I have bought two of these containers so far, the first one is pretty much full of stuff, the second will hold the rest of my tools and things, and will be one of the two it will take to build them into a shop. I will find an image online to share of what that will look like….

It will look something like this, but I will have wooden trusses built that will span the whole distance and cover the tops of the containers.

I think I will leave about 20 feet between the containers for my shop area. Will worry about ends and doors after I get it built. I think this will make a cost effective shop, with lots of usable space inside.

Will likely cut man doors in the containers inside the shop area. I may also build a grow room in one of them, as I plan on having enough solar to run some LED’s. It is a big job adding even more food plots and prepping for this container.

D’Qar Cannabis Plant Seed Grow Next To Even More Food Plots

The D’Qar cannabis plants are doing well and loving life up there. The season is just a bit short however, and that can make it difficult for some plants to mature their seed. This will be a non issue once I get my Geo-Thermally heated/cooled underground greenhouse built.

You can see the spent males on the left, they have done the deed with the ladies…ensuring life goes on. You might also notice there are actually two females there…the big one, then a very small (it was crowded in between the rest of the plants) on the left in the back.

It looks as though even though the flowers will be seeded, they will become pretty big and impressive! (seeded buds then to be smaller and less impressive then sinsemillia buds.)

All in all, I like the strain, even though it is pretty leafy. It certainly has been robust!

The Granddaddy Purple seeds I produced up there last year, while mature enough to be viable, did not mature as much as they would have with a longer season. Too early to tell with the D’Qar, but it only has a week or two till first killing frost.

Adding Even More Food Plots

My goal is to ultimately have a few acres of food plots total, and I do not want them behind a fence, I am planting them for the animals after all.

I do wonder if the animals will leave them alone long enough for the alfalfa to get established, so far it looks like they will. One alfalfa is growing there it will come back ever year, and basically need really no care at all….although I may water it a few times during the growing season to make sure it has a good start each spring.

Here is a watered food plat of a mix of white clover, and alfalfa…

I am hoping it will get established enough to come back next spring….time will tell, if not I will simply replant.

I also made a watered food plot of the bird seed you can buy around to feed the birds. It is mostly maize, and millet, as well as a few other types of seed. Here is an image of it, and it will have time to make seed, so should reseed itself come spring…

Here is what maze and millet look like seeded out…

The Maze is the bigger seeds (on the left), and the Millet the smaller seeds (on the right). My plan is to feed the animals that live there by planting stuff they can come eat all winter long…there particular plants will feed the birds, squirrels, mice, and who knows perhaps bigger animals as well.

I have not seen any of the small sun flowers growing whose seeds are also in the mix.

My excavator makes it really very easy to add plantings like these, and I will constantly be adding more.

Below you can see a video I made of the latest two food plots I have added, one is simply Mullein seed spikes thrown around and ran over with the excavator. Next to it is alfalfa seed I gleaned from plants that grow around the area I live now.

Conclusion To Adding Even More Food Plots Prepping For The Container

I will be going back up to harvest the D’Qar Cannabis seeds soon, as first frost is just days away. I am really looking forward to living out there!

I am not sure I will make it up there before winter hits hard though, we shall see. I will keep adding more food plots and prepping for the container.

Would any of you like to be involved financially in this endeavor? If so contact me….I can def reduce your carbon footprint!

I would love to have the funds to just go out and buy trees that I could plant up there, as it is the lack of funds that has me sprouting trees from seeds, and that means you wait for several years for many of those trees to produce anything.

I am making progress, and I am enjoying the journey for sure!!
