The Ghost here. If you find a spot that’s easy to walk into, it’s a bad spot. Period. If you can stroll right up to your clearing without a scratch on your arms, so can a hiker, a hunter, or anyone else.

In the world of the Ghost, “easy” isn’t what we’re looking for. We want the gnarly, the prickly, and the downright painful. You want to plant guerrilla cannabis protected by the kind of brush that nobody in their right mind wants to push through. You want to….’go deep!’

Use Nature’s Barbwire: Planting in a “No-Go” Zone…The Ghost

Choosing the right natural barrier is 90% of your security. If you pick the right “bodyguards,” you won’t ever have to worry about a “human” taking advantage of your hard work.

The Ghost’s Favorite “Bodyguard” Plants:

• Blackberry & Thorny Brambles: This is nature’s barbwire. A thicket of blackberries is almost impenetrable. If you can find a patch, crawl into the center, hollow out a “nest,” and plant there. Anyone trying to follow your trail will give up after the first ten feet or the first time they draw blood. One favorite way to site a grow in a bramble is to wade up or down a small creek flowing through the bramble.
• Stinging Nettles: I love finding a patch of tall nettles, as in my image above. Not only do they indicate rich, nitrogen-heavy soil (which cannabis loves), but most people will turn around the second they feel that first sting. Truthfully I must have some kind of resistance as nettles have never bothered me much.
• Thistles and Devil’s Club: Anything with a “bite” is a win. thorny, or poisonous plants create a psychological barrier. Most folks stick to the beaten path because it’s the path of least resistance. You want the path of most resistance before anyone can access your grow.

Tactical Op-Sec Tip: When you enter your “Nasty Brush” site, do not leave an obvious trail. If you create a “hole” in a blackberry thicket, it can look like a doorway. Be like the Ghost—slide under, over, or around, and let the thorns close up behind you. Use animal trails, ones you need to belly crawl through…no body else does this much.

Thorns are your friends….they are protecting your ladies and your freedom. If it’s a pain in your ass to get there, it will likely be a great spot.
