This Colombia gold strain strain can grow big, and vigorously, in the traditional Christmas tree shape, with many side branches. The side branches can get so heavy with buds they might want to break, and may even need to be supported. It has a sweet, intense smell, that complements its potent, sometimes psychedelic effect.
Colombian Gold genetics is somewhat of a mystery, as the local citizens of the Santa Marta region of Colombia have been improving this strain for many generations. It is commonly being hybridized even in it’s home, as are many landrace strains.
The natives of Columbia have bred this plant for its much-touted medicinal effects. The Colombian Gold Strain of cannabis is great for treating muscle tension, pain, and for combating depression. It can also be used to treat ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health issues. This marijuana strain (being a Sativa) can also be used to stay focused if on heavy medication.
The buds of these plants are fluffy and they are completely covered in crystals. It usually has a flowering period of about 9-11 weeks. This cannabis strain, as is the case with many Sativas, shows resistance to humidity problems and Powdery Mildew.
These plants yield around 500-600 g/m2, when grown outside. Your yield will be almost cut in half if you grow this sativa indoors.. But, grown indoors or out the quality of the bud is apparent.

Just got my CG started 4/28/24, 10 days old now, man I’ve got a long way to go. I live in north Florida in the middle of 20 wooded acres. I’m growing them outside. I have a couple of questions.
I’ve heard they don’t start flowing till 12/12 hours, that will put me in September and they can take up to 17 weeks to finish that will put me into January, is this true?
2nd question.
Closest neighbors are 300 yards away in all four directions. Will it be possible for them to smell my plants-buds in this Florida heat?

I think you may be ok David, but truthfully am not sure. If they are in pots you could move them, if in the ground keep in touch and let me know how they turn out. Smell can be a give away if the person smelling knows what it is. But being there is alot of vegetation in-between, you should be ok. That being said thievery can be a problem. You could put a game camera on them, as they would likely come take a look if they are on to them.

I may have you beat by a few years Robert. Will be 71 this year, and grew my first SMCG back in 1968. I was completely clueless, and the plants had just begin to flower when the weather turned cold. Young and dumb we smoked the leaves and got a sore throat as much as anything. The mother plants that produced these seeds while being a bit more hybrid-like (strains are being watered down even at their source these days) produced beautiful tight frosty nugs.

So far I would have to say I am rather impressed with the fine folks here at Just Cannabis Seeds I only have tried to pop 2 of the “FREE” and they popped . Here in Illinois medical cannabis card holders are allowed 5 plants per household, and these made #4 and #5 They are only 2 days past germination, already got first cannabis leafs. This was in all actuality my 3rd order from Just Cannabis Seeds. and I only had 1 minor incident. Someone forgot to pack 3 seeds in my order. I sent an email to J and what seemed like instantly, I was more then adequately compensated for the 3 seeds. I got the 3 plus several extras of the strain ordered, plus several seeds of another strain, and to top that off another pack of the free seeds. For those asking in your head ” are they really free” yes they are. If you order some other seeds they are completely free if just order the free cost you shipping cost. Myself, I think it rather low to only order the free seeds, but I do understand peoples concerns. Considering the “EXTRAS” in strains ordered, the “FREE” and the rather low prices on some strains, no other seed distributor gets anywhere near as affordable as Just Cannabis Seeds. I have been treated with great respect every communication and order. Hell, the one missing 3 seeds had so many extras and samples, that I felt slightly shameful for complaining about the 3 missing ones. They happen to be the only strain my wife requested me to get, and everyone knows unhappy wife = unhappy life. There is way more to grow conditions effecting final product then most people realize. All most think is that old mantra “it is all about the genetics”. Yes that does play apart, but grow conditions completely control how those genetics get expressed. Give Just Cannabis Seeds a chance, after playing around with others, I bet you order some more from them in the future. Especially after that first time you pay over $10 a seed for a name and after growing not what expected or have issues and they basically tell you fuck off, prove they did something wrong, you will appreciate Just Cannabis Seeds that much more.
