The Summer Time Cannabis Refresher

When the sun is beating down on the 80 acres at Stony Oasis and the dust is kicking up, the last thing you want is a heavy brownie. You want something that cuts through the heat.

One of my customers…Sarah sent me this recipe for Cannabis Infused Lemonade. She’s a master of the “Liquid Gold” method and her cannabis infused lemonade recipe is the stuff of legend at local summer BBQ gatherings.

It’s refreshing, sharp, tastes good, and hits you faster than a solid edible.

Sarah says the trick is the “Simple Syrup.” You can’t just drop oil into cold lemonade; it’ll float on top like a precarious oil slick. It behooves you to make an infused syrup first using sugar, water, and a tincture. It’s imperative to use fresh lemons—the bottled stuff works, but use fresh.

The Ghost approved of this lemonade because it’s the ultimate “social” infusion. You can sip it slowly over an hour and find your “sweet spot” without overdoing it. If you’ve been growing a citrusy Sativa like Kona Gold, the terpenes will blend right into the lemon for an awesome experience.

The Recipe (As submitted by Sunshine Sarah):

Syrup: Simmer 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water until clear. Remove from heat and stir in 2-4 droppers of Green Dragon Tincture (alcohol-based works best here).
Juice: Squeeze 6-8 fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of juice.
Combine: Mix the infused syrup, the lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water in a large pitcher.
Chill: Serve over plenty of ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint if you’re feeling fancy.
The Ghost Tip: Be careful with infused drinks. Because the liquid passes through the stomach lining faster than solid food, you might feel the effects in 20 minutes instead of an hour. Don’t go back for a second glass until you’re sure where you are at from the first. Overdosing is never fun….
