Guerrilla Growing

Spotting Guerrilla Cannabis on Public Trails: The Ghost’s Field Notes

Found these plants growing along the Columbia River.

Hidden in Plain Sight: The Riverbank Guerrilla Grow That Outgrew the Brush

The Ghost has not lost his eye….

I take hikes to stay in shape…which is very helpful in continuing my work at Stony Oasis Farms. One of my favorite hikes is along the Columbia River…a river which has always impressed me. My pup Emma loves being close to the river as well.

Spotted on the Riverbank: Finding a Rogue Guerrilla Grow in the Wild

There is this spot along the river that I go to often, and I can see others go there too. It is a 96 degree day and I hiked down there for Emma to take a swim. I looked over up the river a ways, and I had to do a double take. There were cannabis plants growing right there. Sticking out like a sore thumb! I could see they were cannabis immediately…I had not been down that trail for a few weeks at least….and they had time to grow taller than the surrounding brush.

I have found many OPP (other peoples pot) plants in my day…maybe 30-40 guerrilla grows by other people…about 4 of them huge cartel grows….One active….needless to say, I got the heck out of there!

I have not found OPP in many years so this was a surprise.

They could be volunteers I suppose, but in my experience in this area that is highly unlikely. It looks like there are 3 or 4 plants in the bunch.

I am not going to do anything more but watch what happens to them. I am not going over there, not going to mess with them at all.

As I hiked away I got to thinking how could I share this experience with you, my customers. I mean I do not think there are many people at all these days growing out and about…guerrilla style. Here in Washington state cannabis is really pretty inexpensive in the rec shops.

So I have come up with the idea I will create some kind of contest with this find. But, I wonder what kind of contest would work, would be fun for you guys. Then I got the idea…let’s have a contest to come up with the best contest!

So that is what we will do….think of a contest that will work for this OPP (other people’s pot) find. It cannot be harvest size or anything like that as I will not mess with them…unless no one else ever does.

Maybe a ‘how tall will they get contest’ (they are a full 2 feet above the brush now) or a ‘will they flower and finish’ contest.

You tell me…in a comment below…lets see what you can come up with…

I am only going to let this go on for a week or so….as the season is getting short. Give me those contest ideas…oh too you can do more than one…but don’t get crazy and list 20…pick the best two or so…

For this contest, and all contest on JCS the normal contest rules apply.

The prize is two triple orders of two of my best selling strains for free with your next order.

Good luck

Now I am kinda excited to go back out there and see if these plants get found, or if they flower and actually mature with no one else seeing them. Just got home from my property and there are a few deer that are getting in with my trees and pretty much ate most of the leaves. I do not think they have killed the trees, but there is not much more I can do right now so I am going back on my solar and get it done so I can move there. Next trip up will be 3 days and get it all finished!

If these plants could talk, what would they say?

Nice just like my Ghost contest, that would work.

name the tune that best fits the scenario. 2 songs max per person for a guess. put your favorite song that best describes the situation…
    example
not Jerry’s, hidden away, sneaky, growing in the wild, who’s is it?
place your song and why you think it fits best.

    1. Jerry says:

Ok Sam, that is why I wanted to have this contest…that is an awesome one that would be alot of fun! Thanks for the awesome suggestion!

figured we could get some laughs with that one. probably should have did the example better…

        example…
johnny rivers – secret agent man. I picked this song because Jerry is out secret agent man on the scene lol….

I really love the idea…and it had not crossed my mind. That is what I love about having these kind of contests you guys come up with outstanding ideas! I use to put links to old school rock and roll in posts sometimes…have always loved music, and there are some songs that would fit well I bet.

          1. SAMUEL BARTOW says:

you’ll be thinking of different songs every time you go to that spot now.

          2. Jerry says:
