Contest post from Richard
I suffer from severe Neuropathy which is extreme numbness, tingling and pain in my feet. Every step I would take hurts. I used to walk 4 miles per day but with the pain I was limited to a few steps.

Even going food shopping became an extremely unpleasant chore. Talk about depression and unhappiness, dealing with the Neuropathy I was absolutely miserable!
The doctor prescribed me various medications all with undesirable side effects. Some of the doctor prescribed medications has such bad side effects I found myself in the hospital.
So I threw away the undesirable medications and started my research on how to treat my Neuropathy myself.
After much searching and reading I tried CBD oil with some success in helping the numbness but not helping very much with the pain.
A doctor friend suggested cannabis.
The only issues is medical cannabis carries a significant expense for the doctor’s visit, card and product.
Having a green thumb I started experimenting with various growing methods.
The best method was a 5 gallon bucket hydroponic system which I purchased the materials, set up and grow medicine perfectly every time!
At first it was trial and error with various growing methods. I experimented with soils, perlite, coconut fibers, vermiculite and the self contained gardening systems. Soils are heavy and the gardening systems were difficult for me to manage.
I had some successes but not the success I was looking for.
Everything changed when I watched a YouTube video on 5 gallon hydroponic systems. The systems are relatively inexpensive to set up, require little maintenance and grow beautifully. Add a grow light for indoor usage and you have a very efficient growing system. I have two hydroponic buckets to never run out of product.
When using a five gallon hydroponic system the best method I found was as follows.
You will need a 5 gallon black bucket and gasket lid. Since black buckets are hard to find you can use any 5 gallon bucket and paint the exterior black.
The black bucket stops the enemy which is algae growth.
You will need air and an air stone and I use an aquarium air pump which works great.
You will also need a control valve and back flow preventer. Use rock wool cubes to grow. The rock wool is placed into a net pot which goes into the hole cut out in the bucket lid.
Use clay pebbles for support of the plant as they work best.
A PH test kit is extremely helpful to properly balance your water.
Most importantly be careful on the liquid fertilizer you use. Start off using 1/4 the amount of liquid fertilizer called for as too much will burn your tender plants.
Growing inside you can use a grow light.
I grow two five gallon bucket systems at a time. When one is ready to harvest the next is already growing. This supplies me the needed medication to easy my pain.
Happy to report the foot pain has been reduced by at least 75%! The relief is extremely welcomed!
I can actually walk more everyday and I am gradually building back up to my 4 miles per day.
I can actually go shopping without having to use a wheelchair!
I feel normal again thanks to cannabis!

My wife was having some REALLY BAD nights. I (Jim) made up some Cannabis brownies and now my wife sleeps much better. Looks like the brownies are helping the nervous legs and neuropathy some directly. For the most part I think she’s able to ignore both and sleep. We’re still evaluating this. Either way…… it works!! This was our last-ditch effort to get her to sleep, AND, we tried A LOT of stuff from doctors and over the counter/Amazon Whoever is in charge of neuropathy research can’t get cannabis into the laboratory fast enough. Richard’s IS MY FAVORITE STORY.
That is awesome Jim, made my whole day!!!
This one gets my vote
This is my favorite of all the articles. Love the hydroponics lesson will try this summer for sure
Jerry,
