The Black Cannabis Strain-Growing at Stony Oasis Farms

JCS is All About Keeping Rare Genetics like The Black Alive

The Black strain of cannabis is one of the strains I grew this year up at my off grid property Stony Oasis Farms. While I did not get a pheno that is all black, the strain continues to impress.

You can read all the articles I have written this summer about this grow here….Stony Oasis Farms 2026 Projects

This is an F1 outdoor seed run, and I think my Black mother will produce some great seeds. The father plants are an offspring of the Black actually…He was a strain called BadAss BB’s, and is from a paring of The Black X The Big…both Indica leaning hybrids.

I have always wanted to isolate and concentrate the beautiful coloring some of the phenos of this cross can produce. Create a plant that turns black consistently. It is a hard thing to do when you can only grow 15 plants legally (one needs to grow a few hundred for this kind of breeding project), and I say legal these days.

On a side note, it has been freezing hard about every night up there in the mountains where these plants are growing, and The Black takes frost in stride…it is one of the least damaged strains I have from the cold weather.

Have you ever grown this strain? If so tell me your experience in a comment…
