Fixing Broken Cannabis Stems: Step-by-Step Recovery

How to Save a Broken Plant Limb (The Ghost Guerrilla Style)
Cannabis can be an incredibly tough plant, and can take alot of stress. But, when you have 40 mile per hour wind gusts, and no protection at all, one may have broken limbs, you can either cull them or try to fix the broken cannabis stem…guerrilla style. I usually repair the broken limb, and give the plant a chance to recover.

Generally if you want to try the tape trick…you need to use it fairly soon after the break. Before the plant tissues can dry completely out. Sadly I was a bit late on this break, and it was dried out, but the limb was still obviously alive.
This is a rather large limb, so I decided to try to save it.
All you need to do is put it back in place tightly, then tape it up so it cannot move…you can use electrical tape as I have, or for even more strength, you can use duct tape. I have done this with really big limbs on much more mature plants and had them heal completely.
The trick is to support the limb in a way that it simply cannot come apart. As you can see in the image above, I have taped the break well, and then supported the broken limb in two more places…one needs a bit of redundancy so the limb simply will not be able to come apart again.
The Preventative Solution for Cannabis Limb Breaks: The DIY Wattle Fence

Next trip up to Stony Oasis Farms I will be building a wattle fence to help protect these plants for those large gusts of wind.
A wattle fence is basically two posts driven into the ground at intervals, (I will use metal ‘T’ posts) and then you weave branches in between them. This gives you a fence the wind actually get through…but it will be defused to the point it will not cause damage. A solid fence can actually cause the wind to whip the plants around even more…while a wattle fence allows some air flow, but breaks up the full force of the wind.

My wattle fence will look a bit different, I will use metal ‘T’ posts just because they are quick and easy, and mine will not be very tall, as it will be on the south side of the plants and I do not want to block much of the sun. (the sun will be more overhead as the season goes on) I just want protect the lower, larger limbs from the wind gusts. The upper limbs will be able to deal with it.
I will do an update on this post when I get that wattle fence built…so stay tuned for that…
Have you ever repaired a broken cannabis limb? How did you do it, and what was your result…I would love to hear about it.
