The 11 Strains of the Summer of 2026: The Stony Oasis Trials

The move to the mountain is almost complete, and the 2026 cannabis growing season at Stony Oasis Farms is officially on the horizon. This year isn’t just a grow; it’s a mission. I’ve spent 50 years working with this plant, and for the 2026 summer season, I’ve hand-selected 11 specific strains to document, breed, and preserve. These are some of my best selling cannabis strains. I will be producing a bunch of F1’s, and will be offering them for sale as a seed pack, with a steep discount. I am allowed 15 plants here in WA state.

Growing off-grid in the foothills of the Simcoe Mountains presents unique challenges. We’re dealing with high-altitude sun, shifting winds, and the need for extreme water efficiency. But if you’ve read my guide on growing 10lb cannabis plants off-grid, you know that with the right preparation and genetics, the results can be legendary. And, I am shooting for LEGENDARY!

The 2026 Selection Criteria

I didn’t pick these out of someones shiny catalog. I chose these from the seeds I carry….ones that sell well, and ones that have impressed me. Here are 3 criteria for selecting these strains….

1. Genetic Integrity: All are landrace or regular seeds no fems, or cookie cutter hybrids.
2. Hardiness: They need to handle the “dryland” conditions of our specialized hugelkultur beds, not to mention the ‘mountain’ weather.
3. Medicinal Value: I am looking for the terpene profiles that modern hybrids have forgotten, this will be a unique, and impressive grow.
4. Size!: I want plants that can get BIG! No wimpy weak plants for me! I am shooting for 10 pounders…although I expect to fall short of that up there.
5. THC Content: I want serious crystallization on the flowers…I want to impress you…my customers.

Documenting the Journey

Each of these 11 strains will be tracked from seed to harvest. The goal? To grow a huge 10= plant or two. And, to produce the highest-quality regular seeds for the Just Cannabis Seed community and to prove that you don’t need a corporate warehouse to grow world-class cannabis nor seeds.

The Ghost Tip: When growing for size and seed production, remember: the plant’s potential is locked in its DNA, but its success is in your soil prep, and care they receive. I like to inspect my plants nearly every day…the best way to ensure fast growing vigorous plants.
